Job summary

Pilgrim’s in Texas is hiring an Egg Handler to collect, handle, and transfer eggs to trays and coolers while following proper egg-handling procedures. The role includes monitoring bird houses, maintaining cleanliness, and removing mortality to support flock health and production efficiency.

This day shift position requires the ability to push and load heavy eggs, stand and walk throughout shifts, and follow strict biosecurity and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of egg-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Experience in agricultural poultry environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transfer eggs into trays and place trays onto egg buggies.
• Push full egg buggies into egg coolers.
• Load and transfer eggs to designated cooler areas.
• Walk poultry houses to identify and remove mortality.
• Return eggs to nests and manage egg jams as needed.
• Clean and disinfect the egg room weekly.
• Follow egg-handling, biosecurity, and culling procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assign work and schedules in absence of supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety policies.
