Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking an Egg Handler to collect, handle, and transfer eggs, ensuring proper procedures are followed. The role includes monitoring bird houses, maintaining cleanliness, and removing mortality to support flock health and production efficiency.

The position offers a day shift with weekend work required, with a base pay rate of $15.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage after the probation period, plus paid time off and retirement plan options.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of egg-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to work in agricultural and poultry production environments.

Responsibilities

• Transfer eggs into trays and place trays onto egg buggies.
• Push full egg buggies into egg coolers.
• Load and transfer eggs to designated cooler areas.
• Walk poultry houses regularly to identify and remove mortality.
• Return eggs found outside nesting areas to the appropriate nests.
• Monitor and address egg jams as necessary.
• Clean and disinfect the egg room on a weekly basis.
• Follow all egg-handling, biosecurity, and culling procedures.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Assign work and meet schedules in the supervisor's absence.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
