Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Hatchery Laborer to perform duties including washing floats, transporting trays, sanitizing hatchers and separators, setting eggs, transferring eggs, and loading chicks onto the conveyor. The job requires continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching; lifting 10-pound trays; and working in wet, humid conditions.

Training lasts 1–2 weeks, with pre-employment checks. Pay is $19.29/hour with benefits after 60 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and reach for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 10-pound egg trays.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks including drug/alcohol/background.

Responsibilities

• Wash floats and remove debris from hatcher trays.
• Transport hatcher trays and buggies between areas.
• Sanitize separators and hatchers using foaming system with sodium hypochlorite.
• Set eggs into incubators by lifting and placing trays.
• Transfer eggs between tables and buggies.
• Load chicks onto the conveyor belt for processing.
