The City of New York seeks two Community Coordinators for the Emergency Food Connection to oversee EFAP activities, supervise staff, and coordinate food distribution to about 600 food programs across NYC. Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities.
• Alternative: high school graduation with six years of experience in related community activities; at least one year of experience as described in the first option.

Responsabilités

• Provide food and funding to approximately 600 emergency food programs (food pantries and community kitchens).
• Facilitate and monitor SNAP outreach throughout the emergency food network; monitor and manage SNAP outreach services by contracted vendors.
• Promote food support benefits and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Supervise EFAP Community Associates responsible for monitoring/evaluating food pantries and kitchens.
• Provide supervision and technical assistance to staff; monitor schedules and site visits for compliance and training needs.
• Represent EFAP at meetings with community groups and prepare surveys, evaluations, and summaries detailing NYC emergency food network activity.
