Job summary

Summa Health Akron City Campus is seeking an EEG Tech I to perform Video Long Term Monitoring (LTM) EEG in the EMU unit, at the patient’s bedside and in Intensive Care Units.

The role requires careful attention to patient positioning, calibration of equipment, and accurate documentation. One year of EEG experience and CPR/BLS are preferred, with ABRET credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited END program OR Associate’s Degree in Allied Health or Natural Sciences OR training in a 2 year Neurodiagnostic educational program OR ABRET registry with related credential (R.EEG T., CNIM, CLTM, R.EPT, etc)

Summary

Performs Video Long Term Monitoring (LTM) EEG examinations in the EMU unit, at the patient’s bedside and Intensive Care Units.

Formal Education Required

• Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program OR Associate’s Degree in Allied Health or Natural Sciences OR training in a 2 year Neurodiagnostic educational program Or be ABRET registry with related credential (R.EEG T. CNIM,CLTM, R.EP T., etc)

Experience & Training Required

• One (1) year experience as a EEG Technologist working in Neurodiagnostics.
• ABRET registry with R.EEG T. credentials preferred
• CPR/BLS certification

• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, health care personnel, patients, families, and visitors.
• Ability to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients.
• Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management as directed.
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Level Of Physical Demands

• Extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts, and wheelchairs.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
