Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is hiring an EEG Technologist Apprentice to train under the Clinical Manager and support the Epilepsy Center operations. You will learn electroencephalographic examinations and epilepsy monitoring as part of a comprehensive apprenticeship program.

The role starts Monday, November 16, 2026, with initial training on 1st shift (7:30am-4:00pm) or 11pm-7:30am for 8-12 weeks. Applicants should submit a resume with the application.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months direct patient care experience
• Completed at minimum one year post-secondary education (may substitute for experience)
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined positions and montages.
• Calibrates and adjusts equipment.
• Observes patients with video/digital recording equipment; ensures EEG/tape alignment; checks focus, lighting and microphone.
• Abstracts relevant patient information from clinical records and questions for missing data.
• Applies electrodes, respiration monitors and EKG.
• Other duties assigned.

We are looking for a future caregiver to take on the role of an EEG (Electroencephalogram) Technologist Apprentice within our world-class team of caregivers. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, the EEG (Electroencephalogram) Technologist Apprentice functions as a trainee and follows established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the Epilepsy Center. The EEG Technologist Apprentice will receive training and instruction in performing electroencephalographic examinations and/or epilepsy monitoring. The apprenticeship program will help build, develop, and train aspiring individuals into a successful healthcare career.

The apprenticeship will start Monday, November16, 2026. It is recommended all candidates submit current resume with work history with the application.

Shift & Schedule-Full-time: Initial training will begin on 1st Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm (Monday - Friday) OR 11pm-730am (Sunday - Thursday) for 8-12 weeks.

Applicants must have availability to work Night Shifts as well as every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) and every other holiday for the duration of the apprenticeship (One full year).

Location: The apprenticeship will located at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus .

• Observes patients with video and digital recording equipment; ensures EEG and tape are lined up exactly; checks focus, lighting and microphone
• Abstracts relevant patient information from clinical record and obtains additional information by questioning.
• Applies electrodes, respiration monitors and EKG

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of physical and biological sciences normally attained through high school course work with emphasis in those areas
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within one month of hire.

Work Experience

Physical Requirements

A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC< normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 50 pounds

• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e. pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $17.25

Maximum hourly: $26.31
