EEG Tech I -
The Non-Registered Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician I of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the EEG Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the EEG Coordinator or designee, the EEG Technician I records neurophysiologic potentials using electronic equipment for diagnosing and prognosing diseases involving the nervous system.

EEG Tech II -
The Non-Registered Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician II of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the EEG Coordinator. Under indirect supervision of the EEG Coordinator or MD, the EEG Technician II records neurophysiologic potentials using electronic equipment for diagnosing and prognosing diseases involving the nervous system.

EEG Tech III -
The Registered Electroencephalography (EEG) Technologist III of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the EEG Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Registered EEG Technologist III records neurophysiologic potentials using electronic equipment for diagnosing and prognosing diseases involving the nervous system. This position requires competence and works under indirect supervision, with immediate availability of the EEG Coordinator, EEG Unit Leader, EEG Specialist, or physician during procedures.

Job Description

EEG Tech I -

Requires an associate degree, bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in a CAAHEP-accredited EEG program. Must be board eligible for EEG Registry per ABRET guidelines within two years of employment. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire, with ongoing maintenance of current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.

EEG Tech II -

Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology program, eligibility for National Board Certification, or equivalent education/experience. Must obtain EEG certification or CNIM within 2 years of employment or 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.

EEG Tech III -

Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END program or equivalent, registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET, and at least one year of EEG Technician work experience. Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.

Additional Job Requirements

Must have graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END program or equivalent, registration as an EEG Technician by ABRET, and one year of EEG Technician experience. Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.
