Job summary

Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA seeks an experienced Instructional Technology Specialist to design and implement faculty development and support for technology-based teaching and learning across on-campus and online programs.

You will train faculty in the use of Canvas, video capture, and other classroom technologies, coordinate with IT and libraries, and help shape university-wide efforts to expand instructional technology adoption.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional/Educational Technology or related field.
Minimum 2 years of teaching or academic technology support in higher education.
Knowledge of distance learning tools and classroom technologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to analyze information, reason and apply judgment to solve problems.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements faculty development programs for technology-enhanced teaching.
Supports Canvas help tickets and consultations with faculty, teaching assistants and graduate assistants.
Vets and recruits national leaders in educational technology for Liberty professional development events.
Develops documentation, tutorials, and videos supporting instructional technologies.
Maintains the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) website and Faculty Communication Center.
Oversees video recording and editing of live professional development events.
