Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a technology-enabled educator to design and implement faculty development and support for teaching with technology. The role supports Canvas tickets, consultations with faculty, TAs and graduate assistants, and coordinates with IT, the Library, and curriculum teams.

The position emphasizes exploring new instructional technologies and delivering training, documentation, and videos to enhance classroom learning across on-site and online formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Instructional/Educational Technology or related field plus 2 years of teaching or academic technology support in a K-12 or higher education setting.
• Knowledge of distance learning tools and classroom technologies (Clickers, SMART Board, etc.), lecture capture tools, social media and Web 2.0 tools.
• Familiarity with Canvas management system and publishing course cartridges integration.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Remains abreast of existing and emerging educational technologies and industry benchmarks.
• Collaborates with the Center for Teaching Excellence and Liberty University.
• Vets and recruits national leaders for faculty development events.
• Designs and evaluates university-wide faculty development programs for technology-enabled teaching.
• Trains faculty in using the learning management system and classroom technologies.
• Consults with residential faculty on Canvas issues and supports help desk tickets.
• Develops consulting services for pedagogical implications of technology integration.
• Creates documentation, tutorials, and videos supporting instructional technologies.
• Maintains and updates the CTE website and Faculty Communication Center.
• Oversees video filming and editing of live professional development events.
