Position Overview
Algebra I is a gateway course that serves as the foundation for advanced mathematics, college readiness, and future career success. Through this innovative pilot program, Cincinnati Public Schools is investing in new instructional models designed to increase student achievement, strengthen mathematical reasoning, and improve long-term academic outcomes. Educational Specialists will serve as founding members of this pilot initiative, partnering with teachers and instructional leaders to provide targeted support that helps students master essential Algebra I concepts. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence student success while helping shape instructional practices that may inform future mathematics programming across the district.
Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking three Educational Specialists to launch its new Algebra I Pilot Program. One Educational Specialist will be assigned to each participating high school (Withrow and Western Hills University High School). Educational Specialists serve as collaborative instructional partners, working alongside Algebra I classroom teachers to deliver standards-based instructional support that promotes student engagement, conceptual understanding, and mastery of Algebra I content. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about mathematics, believe in the power of collaborative teaching, and want to contribute to an innovative instructional model designed to transform Algebra I outcomes for Cincinnati Public Schools students.
