Job summary

The DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs and contribute to an inclusive classroom. The role involves one-on-one instruction, assisting with lesson plans, and providing behavioral and mobility support as needed.

Responsibilities include supervising students during non-instructional times, communicating with families, and documenting progress for data analysis.

Qualifications

• Provide one-on-one instruction and accommodations for students
• Assist with classroom activities per lesson plans
• Document student progress and assist data collection

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and ensure lesson plan implementation.
• Provide individualized support for students with IEP goals.
• Facilitate small group instruction as directed by teacher.
• Support students' physical needs including mobility, feeding, toileting, and lifting when necessary.
• Utilize technology and educational software to enhance learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times (cafeteria, hall monitoring).
• Document progress and collect instructional data.
• Coordinate assigned project tasks to meet objectives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
