Job summary

Redan High School, part of DeKalb County School District, is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
Associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved college or university.
Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia-approved college or university.

Responsibilities

Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction to students per teacher lesson plans.
Monitors students before/after school and during non-instructional periods.
Supports classroom management to promote an effective learning environment.
Assists teachers with assessing student performance and recordkeeping.
Assists with development and organization of instructional materials.
