Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved college or university.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia-approved college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
• Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction to students per teacher lesson plans.
• Monitors students before/after school and during non-instructional periods.
• Supports classroom management to promote an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessing student performance and recordkeeping.
• Assists with development and organization of instructional materials.
