Job summary

Albany State University seeks a Federal Work Study Educational Outreach Student Assistant for our West/East Campus location in Albany, GA. The role supports after-school programs, tutoring, and family outreach, with duties including answering calls, managing emails, and assisting with social media in the Center.

Ideal candidates are enrolled students taking minimum credits and eager to engage with K-12 youth, families, and community partners, while upholding the university's values and policies.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be currently enrolled at Albany State University and taking a minimum of six undergraduate credit hours or three graduate credit hours.
• Preferred majors include Child Care, Nursing, Education/Teaching, Communication, Film and Production, Engineering, Marketing, and/or Technology.
• Requires ability to work with youth and families and to engage in community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Greeting parents/guardians/guests and assisting with the Center’s programs.
• Provide tutoring support for K-12 students and assist with media and STEM/STEAM programming.
• Answer inbound calls, make outbound calls, respond to emails, and manage social media for outreach.
• Support daily operations and occasional weekend work as needed.
