Job summary

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 is seeking an Educational Assistant Level IV- Special Education for a 1:1 position. The role provides support to elementary students and works under special educators to reinforce instructional strategies, assist with behavior support, and help with personal care in all school environments.

Hours are 7.25 per day, 172 days per year, under the Burnsville Association of Educational Assistants contract.

Qualifications

• Completion of AA degree, 60 college level credits or completion of para-pro exam.
• Completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen is also required.

• Work under the direction of special educators to reinforce instructional strategies, provide behavior support, and assist with personal care in all school environments.
• Work as a team member to implement IEP based instructional goals and adaptations including assistive technology.
• Collect student data and third party billing record documentation.
• Promote inclusion and self sufficiency of students in the school community.

Note: Education Assistants proficient in a second language, American Sign Language, or Braille will earn an additional $.75 above the hourly wage when it is a regular requirement for the position.
