Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (ASDB) in Phoenix Metro seeks an ASL Interpreter/Educational Interpreter to provide educational interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The role follows IEP-driven needs and may involve transitioning duties beyond classroom interpretation.

Responsibilities include collaborating with teachers, participating as an IEP team member, and occasionally transporting to internships or CPT activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Interpreting, ASL, or Deaf Studies.
• Travel required to perform duties at various sites.
• Must pass FBI and State background checks; Defensive Driver Training.
• Certification: EIPA 3.5+ or RID/NAD/BEI (CSC/CI/CT/ CDI/SC:L/NAD level 3+).

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in educational settings according to IEPs.
• Interpret for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and deaf-blind students; coordinate with teachers and staff.
