Job summary

RXinsider LTD. in Illinois seeks an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to provide communication access for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings by interpreting spoken language into ASL and back.

The requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Educational Interpreting or related field and an EIPA certification with a 3.5+ score. You will support classroom instruction and collaborate with teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid EIPA certification meeting Illinois requirements (3.5+).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret classroom instruction and activities using ASL or other sign systems.
• Facilitate communication among students, teachers, peers, and staff.
• Prepare lessons by reviewing materials and vocabulary.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure curriculum access.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional interpreting standards.
• Assist with IEP-related communication as appropriate.
