Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (ASDB) seeks an ASL Interpreter/Educational Interpreter in the Phoenix Metro area for a 10-Month calendar with 40 hours per week. This limited-time appointment offers pay in the $20.00–$34.02 per hour range and requires travel.

The interpreter will provide classroom and incidentals interpretation, collaborate with teachers and IEP teams, and meet ongoing certification and professional development requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with children or adults in community or educational settings.
• Must pass FBI and State background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in educational settings per IEPs.
• Match language use of students, peers, and instructors; interpret in class and incidental moments.
• Communicate with classroom teachers about student communication needs.
