Job summary

United Way of New York City is seeking a Manager for Education & Workforce Pathways to lead program design and execution, aligning education equity initiatives with community needs. You will oversee day-to-day implementation, partner relationships, and data-driven improvements for underserved NYC youth.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Learning Design & Delivery, this role requires strong collaboration across schools, CBOs, and corporate partners, with a focus on outcomes, budgets, and grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years managing youth-serving, workforce development, education, or related programs.
• Experience managing complex programs across multiple partners, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Experience with grant deliverables, compliance, budgets, and performance reporting.
• Experience with culturally responsive program models focused on career exploration, mentorship, internships, or other workforce pathway models.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with workforce development networks and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage cross-functional work and influence outcomes without formal authority.
• Knowledge of NYC education, workforce development, and postsecondary landscape.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports and updates.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel across NYC’s five boroughs.
• Commitment to United Way of New York City’s mission and advancing equity.

Responsibilities

• Program Management & Implementation: Manage day-to-day implementation of workforce development and education pathways programs.
• Partnership & Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with NYC Public Schools, CBOs, corporate partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
• Performance, Operations & Continuous Improvement: Track enrollment, attendance, partner performance, outcomes, budgets, and grant deliverables; support continuous improvement.
• Develop grant reports, funder updates, and program summaries communicating progress and impact.
