Job summary

Northshore Education Consortium in Beverly, MA seeks a Transportation Assistant to support the day-to-day administrative work of the Regional Special Education Transportation Program and NEC's internal fleet.

You will update transportation records, process routine service requests, and communicate with school districts and vendors under the Transportation Manager, ensuring accurate data in 7D Connect and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of administrative/transportation experience preferred.
• Strong organization and attention to deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and transportation software.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update transportation requests, addresses, schedules, route changes, and service information.
• Maintain records for students, routes, vehicles, drivers, and monitors in NEC systems.
• Record student transportation needs such as wheelchair access and nursing support.
• Communicate service updates to districts and vendors; escalate issues as needed.
• Manage driver/vehicle documentation and assist with NEC 7D Connect data checks.
• Maintain NEC-owned vehicle records and assist with fleet maintenance documentation.
• Support confidential information handling and other admin tasks; fill in as lunch courier.
