Job summary
West Carrollton City Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to assist certified staff in the classroom, reinforce reading, math and language arts, and support special needs students. The role includes supervising students and helping with instructional activities to enable teachers to focus on curriculum development.
Under supervision, you will contribute to safe and orderly classrooms, travel between school sites when required, and support parent communication as requested.
Qualifications
- Assists students with reading, language arts and math activities.
- Supports use of computer-based instruction and classroom materials.
- Provides supervision and assistance in high-need student tasks as directed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reinforcing reading, language arts, mathematics and computer instruction.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assist staff with administering and correcting activities and assessments.
- Prepare instructional materials and manage classroom routines as needed.
- Support student behavior and safety in the classroom and during non-instructional times.
- Accompany students on field trips for supervision and learning.
