Job summary

ESC of Central Ohio is seeking a Paraprofessional to support instructional programs and assist certified staff in creating a safe and effective learning environment for students in compliance with district and federal regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and an Educational Aide Permit, plus successful background checks. The position involves classroom, library, and transportation support, with duties spanning supervision, tutoring, and data management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• BCI/FBI background check completed.
• Meet applicable federal requirements under ESEA act.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Support student supervision and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.
• Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the position.
• Assist certified staff in implementing instructional activities.
• Provide tutoring and small group support under teacher direction.
• Assist with assessment activities as directed by licensed staff.
• Supervise students in classroom and non-classroom settings.
• Manage shelving, inventory, and database systems (library).
• Assist students with research and technology use (library).
• Assist bus driver in maintaining safe student conduct (transportation).
• Provide support to students with special needs during transport (transportation).
• Complete behavior reports as necessary (transportation).
