Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Special Education ESP to provide on-site support to students with disabilities under the direction of certified staff. The role includes instructional support, behavior management, health support, data collection, and reporting student progress to teachers and related services staff.

The position works 6.5 hours per day across 180 duty days per year and may require in-home services or in-school supervision during meals, recess, and field trips.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits or a two-year degree is required or available via Paraeducator Assessments.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with elementary students is preferred and computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and assistance under certified staff.
• Assist with behavior management, health support, data collection, and progress reporting.
• Support students with personal cares as needed and monitor in lunch/recess settings.
• Collaborate with teachers and related services staff to implement IEPs.
• Maintain confidentiality and build positive relationships with diverse learners.
