Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support staff and students across assigned school programs, including in-school suspension and bilingual education. You will monitor student behavior, maintain records, and assist with curriculum and testing administration.

The role emphasizes strong communication with parents and staff, adherence to codes of conduct, and collaboration with teachers to support program goals. A qualifying degree and experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher; or at least sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited institution of higher education (official transcripts required to validate education).
• Passing a third-party paraprofessional certification exam (e.g., ParaPro Assessment) can substitute for the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
• Provides assistance and support in an assigned functional program (e.g., in-school suspension, juvenile detention, bilingual education, health screening, job placement, environmental education, vocational/technical training).
• Performs routine to moderately complex administrative support duties (attendance and student records, reports, scoring examinations, filing).
• Monitors activities and behavior of students to ensure safety and conduct.
• Assists teachers with development and implementation of program curriculum and training.
