Job summary

Upstate Caring Partners in Utica, NY is seeking an Assistant Director of Education to support the Director of School Age Education in daily operations and expansion of services. You will help supervise staff, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and participate in budgetary and reporting activities.

The role requires a Master’s or higher in related fields, a teaching background in Special Education, and 1–2 years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred.
• 1-2 years of paid educational administration or leadership experience.
• NYSED School Building Leader or School Administrator certification preferred.
• Travel is required; must have a valid NYS Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director in daily oversight of program/department operations, including budget monitoring and staff scheduling.
• Supports planning and execution of staff meetings, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Assists in expanding department services and development of new programs and initiatives.
• Oversees timely completion of records and reports for assigned areas.
• Tracks and analyzes data related to student progress and program outcomes.
• Collaborates with other Agency programs and external partners to ensure quality services.
• Coordinates services with state/federal agencies and healthcare providers to ensure compliance.
• Monitors fiscal responsibility of the program and budget areas.
• Supports ongoing staff training and development and maintains licenses/certifications.
