UMass Medical School in Worcester seeks an Education Program Specialist for iCELS to coordinate and oversee formal education sessions, liaise with course directors and learners, and ensure smooth delivery of mult-modal events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain relationships between internal and external educational collaborators.
  • Serve as liaison between course directors, other education-related departments or learners.
  • Demonstrate optimized bi-directional communication to support session and data outcomes.
  • Triage complex requests from faculty, learners, staff and clients; resolve issues as needed.
  • Manage details of educational programming: staff/faculty assignments, space and equipment.
  • Coordinate course schedules and multi-party events.
  • Assist faculty in design and development of technology-enhanced sessions/materials.
  • Translate and disseminate learning materials for onsite/offsite sessions to meet objectives.
  • Manage real-time education program delivery to meet objectives.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize workflows.
  • Interact with educational team to support academic/administrative needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and communications.
  • Coordinate curriculum scheduling and collaboration with instructors for multi-modal education.
  • Collaborate to schedule standardized patients for cases based on learning requirements.
  • Create and disseminate session materials and compile metrics on learning impact.
  • Update scheduling tools and resources; manage customer relationships.
  • Work with staff accountant on estimates and invoices for events.

Responsibilities
  • Build and sustain strong relationships between internal/external educational collaborators.

  • Demonstrate optimized bi-directional communication with UMMS collaborative departments and/or external customers to produce desired session and data outcomes.
  • Triage complex requests and inquiries from faculty, learners, staff and clients to ensure that operations are optimized. Resolve minor issues with constituents as needed.
  • Manage details of educational programming, including staff assignments, faculty facilitator assignments, space, and equipment reservations to meet educational requirements and learning objectives of multifaceted, multimodal events.
  • Work with faculty/educational collaborators in producing detailed course schedules and coordinating multiple daily course events.
  • Assist faculty in the design and development of technology-enhanced educational sessions /materials.
  • Translate, convert and disseminate learning materials into requirements for varied educational resources, equipment needs and material setup for onsite/offsite session to meet educational objectives.
  • Manage real-time education program delivery to meet all scheduled and expected objectives.
  • Participate in discussion and development of quality improvement initiatives to optimize workflows.
  • Interact with educational team to support all required academic/administrative needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of oral communication and written records.
  • Coordinate curriculum scheduling.
  • Collaborate with instructors to design, implement, and assess multi-modal medical education.
  • Collaborate to create program schedules and assign appropriate SPs and resources.
  • Create and disseminate session materials to support learners and the iCELS team.
  • Compile metrics on learning event impact.
  • Update required resource tools to support scheduling tasks.
  • Manage customer relationships with clients.
  • Work with staff accountant on construction of estimates and invoices for events.
  • Collaborate to schedule standardized patients to participate in scheduled cases by analyzing phenotype and learning requirements and program objectives.
  • Update CAAP database and WIW scheduling software.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 1 year experience
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent and autonomous decisions
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations

PREFERRED:

  • Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting
  • Preferred experience in medical education
