Job summary

Academies of Math and Science in Phoenix is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional (Teacher’s Assistant) starting ASAP. You will work closely with lead teachers to provide individualized and small-group support, reinforce learning, and help manage a positive classroom environment.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or higher, pass the paraprofessional exam or hold an associate degree, experience with children, and the ability to obtain a Level One IVP Fingerprint

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or completion of paraprofessional exam.
• Experience with children in educational or youth-focused settings.
• Ability to obtain Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with instruction, activities, and transitions.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce skills.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and promote engagement.
• Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with grading or documentation.
• Collaborate with staff to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs.
