Job summary

Phoenix Elementary School District #1 is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in implementing instructional programs. You will work directly with children in small groups or one-to-one, assist with materials, and help maintain a safe, conducive learning environment.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or two years of college, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys, with a preference for prior experience with children and a valid IVP fingerprint card.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or two years of college (60 semester hours) or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys test is required.
• Prefer prior experience working with children.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
• Conduct learning games with students according to established procedures.
• Supervision and instruction of children; copying, cutting, coloring to construct materials and bulletin boards.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to reinforce skills taught by the teacher.
• Serve snacks and lunches as necessary.
• Attend workshops as directed.
