Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an outreach and education specialist to promote programs for older adults and caregivers. You will coordinate Aging Network activities, develop trainings, and present at community events to engage stakeholders and improve service access.

The role emphasizes relationship building, program development, and effective use of presentation software and social media to spread information about aging services and SHICK resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in education, marketing/outreach, or related field.
  • Two years’ experience in human services with emphasis on adults 60+ is required.
  • One year of experience using presentation software to create and facilitate presentations.
  • Valid US driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance are required.
  • SHICK Counselor Certification upon hire; AIRS Certification preferred.

Job description

  • Promote the agency and programs offered to professionals, older adults, caregivers, people with disabilities, and the public through outreach activities and community presentations
  • Coordinate and facilitate Aging Network meetings for aging and disability professionals
  • Develop and coordinate education programs, in-service trainings, educational presentations, workshops, and seminars
  • Provide outreach presentations and attend community events
  • Initiate and provide presentations to public and private groups
  • Identify and participate in health fairs, information booths, and other community events
  • Network, develop, and maintain relationships with aging and disability professionals, community stakeholders, and community citizens
  • Maintain information, resources, brochures, and publications supporting CPAAA’s education focus
  • Provide education, outreach, and volunteer recruitment support for the SHICK program
  • Create and distribute an aging department newsletter
  • Document events and contacts in the electronic management information system (MIS)
  • Explore opportunities to reach targeted and underserved populations
  • Organize and facilitate monthly Aging Network meetings for on-site and virtual participants
  • Solicit input from Aging Network members and recruit presenters
  • Maintain the Aging Network email list and send weekly email updates
  • Maintain oversight of CPAAA Aging Network social media platforms
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in education, marketing/outreach, or related field
  • Two years’ experience in human service with emphasis on working with adults 60+
  • One year of experience using presentation software to create presentations and facilitating presentations to stakeholders
  • Up to two years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills
  • Valid US driver’s license without restrictions
  • Current proof of automobile insurance
  • Obtain and maintain SHICK Counselor Certification upon hire
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Gerontology, Human Services, Education, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration or a related field (preferred)
  • One year experience in the field of aging or physical disabilities, preferably an Area Agency on Aging or Physical Disabilities provider system (preferred)
  • AIRS, Information and Referral/Assistance Certification (preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and a language other than English (preferred)
