The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is seeking an Education and Outreach Coordinator to support the development, coordination, and financial sustainability of pre-K through graduate programs aimed at building a diverse workforce capable of addressing emerging opportunities in areas related to AI, data science, and research computing. Outreach is one of the ways that the University extends its expertise for the direct benefit of Minnesotans and other external audiences. This is a joint outreach position shared by Research Computing (RC) and the Data Science and AI (DSAI) Hub. The education and outreach coordinator is responsible for managing the development of education and outreach programs, coordinating and partnering with other outreach programs at the UMN, developing and sustaining community partnerships, working on short and long-term program financial sustainability, and working with RC and DSAI Hub's comprehensive strategy around outreach. The ideal candidate would have a working knowledge of AI and data science to best be able to coordinate with subject matter experts, assess the AI/data science needs, and identify opportunities in programming and funding.

Research Computing (RC) (rc.umn.edu) brings together a diverse portfolio of research computing and data resources available at the University of Minnesota, including high-performance computing, spatial data, data science, and artificial intelligence, and more. RC is a unit of UMN's Research and Innovation Office.
The Data Science and AI (DSAI) Hub (dsi.umn.edu), one of the five units in RC, aims to make a mark in data science research, nationally and internationally, by facilitating research used to address grand challenges facing our state, nation, and the world.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $87,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
