Responsibilities include:

  • Connecting Memphis CHILD medical-legal partnership clients to social services and government benefits to meet their needs and promote family stability.
  • Educating clients on their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Advocating for proper evaluation and implementation of IEPs and 504 plans by coordinating and attending meetings with clients, school districts, and educational teams.
  • Assisting clients with enrollment, truancy, and other school-related concerns.

Program Coordination and Leadership:

  • Developing and implementing program services and activities.
  • Representing MLH's mission to provide access and holistic care to all persons.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to identify community needs for planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of Outreach Coordinators, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and guiding on complex issues.
  • Modeling behavior aligned with MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required) and Master's Degree (preferred).
  • 1-3 years in community development and healthcare environment.
  • 3-5 years in community outreach programs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the connection between theology, health, and wellness.
  • Understanding of local church resources and community groups; cultural or linguistic knowledge is a plus.

Additional Details:

  • Supervises other Outreach Coordinators.
  • Physical demands include light activity, with work often during evenings and weekends.
