Job summary

UNICEF Lagos seeks a Education Consultant to lead the development of a school leadership and teacher professional development program. You will work with LASUBEB and LGAs to design training, provide coaching to headteachers and School Support Officers, and document lessons learned to strengthen educational outcomes in Lagos.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Education-related fields and at least eight years of experience in education programming, with proven facilitation and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in Education Development, Educational leadership, school leadership, curriculum design, school coaching and mentoring, and related fields.
• Work Experience: Minimum eight (8) years in education programming including educational leadership and school-based programmes.
• Preferred: Experience with Ministries of Education, donor-funded programmes, UNICEF/UN agencies or international NGOs.
• Skills: Demonstrated expertise in educational leadership; coaching and mentoring; facilitation with senior officials; strong written and oral English communication.
• Language: Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Review current school leadership programmes and lead development of a leadership training, coaching and mentorship programme for Lagos.
• Provide support for training of Head teachers and School Support Officers in school leadership.
• Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to headteachers and SSOs, including in the STPD programme.
• Provide thought leadership to LASUBEB and other stakeholders on the school leadership and STPD programmes in Lagos.
• Document emerging good practices and lessons from programme implementation.
