Job summary

Dublin City Schools in Delaware, Ohio seeks a Computer Technician to maintain and optimize the district's technology infrastructure and device ecosystem. You will deliver proactive, customer-focused technical support to ensure secure access to digital tools for learning.

Responsibilities include managing hardware deployments, software updates, and incident resolution across staff and student devices, while upholding cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • 35 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems maintenance. Prior work in K-12 or higher ed preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience deemed appropriate by the Executive Director of Technology and Information or Designee.
  • Manage end-to-end IT support, including hardware deployments, software installations, system upgrades, and routine break/fix repairs for staff and student devices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues efficiently with first-time resolutions.
  • Experience supporting modern educational technology environments such as Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, 1:1 device programs (Chromebooks, iPads), and MDM platforms (Jamf, Google Admin Console).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; translate technical concepts for educators, admins, and students.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal daily supervision.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and insured vehicle for onsite repairs.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver IT equipment up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in all phases of technological equipment repair services.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the district's network infrastructure including VoIP and AV/video systems.
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to provide technical support for district data systems and cloud resources.
  • Maintain inventory records for all district technology assets and use asset management software to track lifecycles and deployments.
  • Uphold cybersecurity standards by enforcing Acceptable Use Policies and complying with FERPA and COPPA to protect information.
  • Organize storage areas, restock inventory, and deploy inventory items as needed.
  • Provide technical training and assistance to staff.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies to perform effectively as a Computer Technician.
  • Ensure safety of students and maintain professional conduct and confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Remain free of alcohol and controlled substances while on district premises.
  • Model professional behavior and ethical principles; encourage responsible citizenship.
  • Support the district's mission and assist in protecting student data integrity.
