Job summary

The Reading School District seeks a Director of Human Resources to lead the District's HR activities in support of its strategic plan. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance evaluation, and professional development, while ensuring compliance with policies, contracts, and state regulations.

The role requires strong leadership, data analysis, and communication skills, with experience in education settings and collaboration across departments to advance district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in HR, business administration or related field required, including education; Master's preferred.
• Three years in progressively larger HR roles with talent acquisition, development, and evaluation experience.
• Experience in an educational setting is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and guidance in HR objectives, standard operating procedures, performance standards, timelines, and reports.
• Provides direct supervision, coaching, professional development, and performance evaluation of assigned HR personnel to ensure operational effectiveness and service delivery.
• Oversees the District's recruitment process, job descriptions, and the interview/selection process with compliant practices.
• Oversees onboarding, retention/engagement initiatives, and alignment with district culture.
• Collaborates on negotiations and district policies; serves on the Labor Relations/Negotiations team as required.
