Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance across educational facilities in Illinois, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficient operations.

You will supervise technicians, coordinate with contractors, and optimize workflows while ensuring compliance with safety policies and company standards. A minimum of 3 years in supervisory maintenance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance teams.
• Knowledge of CMMS or related system.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Background in trades, maintenance, construction, etc.

Responsibilities

• Be a safety champion and ensure team is working safely and efficiently.
• Ensure technicians have training, materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Monitor the condition of property, facilities and equipment and identify maintenance needs.
• Develop and implement schedules and strategies for regular, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Optimize the efficiency and reliability of production processes, methods, labor, energy and equipment.
• Oversee work order production and completion according to standards.
• Determine staffing levels and enforce policies, work rules and other standards.
• Supervise, train and evaluate maintenance staff and contractors.
• Coach, train, interview, hire, and follow disciplinary procedures.
