Job summary

HES Facilities is seeking a detail-oriented custodian to perform cleaning, floor care, and window washing for educational facilities. You will follow safety procedures, respond to work orders, and assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Willingness to learn and clear criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors.
• Machine shampoo carpeting.
• Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures.
• Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors.
• Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trashcans outside entrances.
• Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies.
• Change interior light bulbs, filters, and ceiling tiles.
• Complete work requests to notify management of needed repair work.
• Work orders and building safety checks.
• Perimeter grounds policing and maintenance.
• Remove snow and ice and apply salt/ice melting products as needed.
• Organize custodial closets and supply rooms.
• Move, set up or rearrange furniture and equipment for events as directed.
• Additional job-related duties as required by the supervisor.
