Job description

Seeking a Director to lead, develop and manage a STEM Learning Academy located in Columbus, MS

Must have or preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in education or business Administration with Education specialization combined with at least five (5) years of experience in the field of education;
• Have a current state teaching certificate (any state) as the Director may be required to teach temporarily in an emergency;
• Experience understanding and ability to implement STEM methodologies;
• Must pass the security and background checks for working on a DoD facility and working with children;
• Experience with developing and implementing new programs and initiatives;
• Experience in creating, developing, and implementing training workshops;
• Experience in organization, administrative problem-solving, conflict resolution and record keeping;
• Technical oriented with high proficiency in internet-based tools and applications (MS Office Suite) and various Educational tools related to STEM
• Ability to create a strategic business plan, to include a monthly/annual budget strategy
• Experience and/or willingness to learn and adhere to Department of Defense military policies, procedures and protocol.
• Experience and/or ability to work with high-level public officials, military leaders, school liaison officers at district level
• Knowledge of program evaluation methods and development of outcome measures;
• Willingness to travel locally on a regular basis and nationally for mandatory leadership seminars

Note: Director will participate in the review and selection of two STEM Educators and an Office Manager to complete the team.
