Job summary

ETHIOPIAN TEWAHEDO SOCIAL SERVICES (ETSS) in Columbus, OH is seeking a STEAM Program Manager to oversee planning, implementation, monitoring and assessment of the Youth STEAM program across all sites. The role manages all aspects of the STEAM program, including curriculum development and staff coordination.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current trends in STEAM education, including constructivist pedagogy, performance-based standards and assessments, designing of STEAM project-based, and challenged-based activities;
  • Strong instructional skills and a broad knowledge of elementary and middle school curriculum;
  • Two (2) years teaching experience in STEAM subjects;
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail;
  • Strong technology experiences and skills;
  • Experience in providing professional development;
  • Experience preferred in writing curriculum framework guides for science or math or an integrated curriculum;
  • Familiarity with budget and fiscal management;
  • Ability to write report and analyze data to inform next steps;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with program administrators, tutors/instructors, central office staff, and professional organizations in providing rigorous academic experiences for all students;
  • Effective time management, documentation and organizational skills;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure;
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to analyze student performance data;
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, monitor, and provide assessment of all STEAM-related instructional programs, activities and events, including oversight of the whole ETSS Youth STEAM program;
  • Ensures that all STEAM activities provide authentic, problem-based curriculum experiences, and address and support ETSS Youth Program goals and priorities;
  • Collaborates with instructional team, including site coordinator and tutors/instructors, to ensure a consistent, rigorous and equitable educational experience across all program sites in math, science, and technology education;
  • Coordinates the development and enhancement of STEAM curricula for instructional programs, as needed;
  • Provides instructional support to program site staff using best practices and research-based instructional methods;
  • Develops and presents STEAM professional development for site staff;
  • Facilitates student participation in local math and science organizations and competitions;
  • Coordinates the collection of data to measure impact of the overall STEAM Program;
  • Works with the Director of Youth, Development Director, other ETSS management to search for future grants and other funds to strengthen expand the program.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports, including an end-of-year summary report
  • Coordinates equipment, supplies and materials orders for STEAM programs;
  • Coordinates and facilitates open houses, orientations, and other STEAM activities for parents and students;
  • Attends curriculum committee meetings, ETSS staff meetings as well as other STEAM-related meetings;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Youth Program Management.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in science, math or a related STEAM field required.

Experience

A minimum of one-year teaching experience in a STEAM-related content area required; elementary and/or middle school experience preferred
