This role combines programoperations and development, community engagement, data analysis, anddata-informed decision-making to support and contribute to the UNM HealthScience Center’s major strategic goal of doubling the healthcare workforce.This role will be integral to the development and success of the Pre-HealthInstitute initiative at the HSC Rio Rancho Campus. As the Education andDevelopment Manager, this role will work directly with the HSRR leadership indeveloping and implementing academic and outreach programs and courses for highschool, undergraduate, and post-baccalaureate students. This position will also work with senior leadership and community leaders including rural and tribaloutreach. It is expected that this position will learn the HSC health academicprograms and will build and maintain collaborative relationships with UNM HSCprograms and community members.
The Education and DevelopmentManager will collaborate closely with HSRR leadership to oversee theimplementation and daily operations of existing programs and courses while also contributing to the design and launch of new initiatives. The Pre Health Instituteand its leadership team operate in a dynamic, fast moving team environment,requiring adaptability, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to programdevelopment. Data analysis and reporting is an important part of this position.The designing, collecting, analyzing, and writing reports on programeffectiveness will be utilized in the Director’s reporting to the HSC ExecutiveVP office and other senior leaders, at times on short notice.
The Rio Rancho campus consistsof over 200 acres in the City Center of Rio Rancho. The campus currently hostsSRMC, The Center of Excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, andthe original “building one.” The HSRR Campus is a unique, comfortable, andwelcoming space and culture. Current programs in Building One include UNMCollege of Nursing, an outpatient behavioral health clinic, the Pre-HealthScholars Certificate, Pre-Health Institute, and a unique collaboration with CNMfor a Medical Assistant certification program. The new and innovative UNMPre-Health Institute consists of programming focused on strengthening thepreparation and success of students pursing health careers.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
