Job summary

Excellence Community Schools is seeking a Data Analyst to support reporting, data quality, and analytics across the organization. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, generate insights, and support strategic initiatives in education.

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in SQL, Python or R, and Power BI, with experience in data visualization, ETL, and data governance within a nonprofit or educational setting. This role is based in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or related field with at least 2 years analytics experience; or Master’s degree in related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data analysis concepts and statistical methods.
• Experience working with spreadsheets and datasets.
• Basic proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and visualizations for operational and academic stakeholders.
• Support report card, progress monitoring, enrollment, attendance, assessment, and other school-based reporting processes.
• Conduct analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support school and organizational goals.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
