Job summary

The Center for Education Market Dynamics (CEMD) is a nonprofit focused on improving academic outcomes by expanding access to high-quality curriculum and instruction. The Data Analyst will turn data into insights to guide education strategies and partner work.

You’ll lead data analyses, develop dashboards, validate data, and communicate findings to researchers, partners, and leadership, using SQL, Python or R, Tableau, and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in K-12 Education systems.
• Strong SQL and reshaping data in R or Python.
• Experience creating dashboards with Tableau.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Quicksight.
• Experience automating data connections across multiple systems.
• Experience using GitHub for code collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in data science, analytics or research.

Responsibilities

• Lead analyses of aggregated data, from framing to insights.
• Deliver project insights with clear written and verbal communication.
• Improve data collection, QA checks, and reproducible code in GitHub.
• Develop knowledge of key datasets both internal and external.
• Apply technical skills to extract/analyze data and present findings.
• Translate data into visualizations and dashboards to drive decisions.
• Craft recommendations for project plans and research tasks.
• Solve ambiguous problems and propose new insights.
• Collaborate with researchers, product teams and leadership.
• Communicate across teams to align objectives.
