Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead program goals for a high school completion and post-secondary preparation program in Los Angeles. The role involves enrollment targets, coordinating enrichment and tutoring, and reporting performance metrics to leadership.

The position emphasizes on-site work with a focus on collaboration with schools, program staff, and community partners to ensure student progress and successful college readiness outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in education, counseling, social work, higher education administration, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience assisting with staff supervision, budget management, program development and evaluation, reporting, and compliance with federal regulations.
• Four years of experience with federal TRIO programs, academic support programs, or similar programs for disadvantaged low-income 9–12th grade students.
• Experience providing academic advising services, tutoring programs, and college/career guidance to secondary school students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate and recommend staff for hire.
• Collect and submit data for annual APR reporting.
• Monitor and document participant academic progress and plan improvements.
• Visit target schools and coordinate with personnel to promote services.
• Develop and implement summer enrichment and tutoring programs.
• Recruit participants and manage enrollment processes.
• Maintain program files and documentation across systems.
• Prepare weekly evaluations and report progress to the Director.
