Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Project Advisor to support high school students in graduation and post-secondary planning, coordinating tutoring, counseling, and college/career guidance. The role emphasizes academic planning, financial aid advisement, and facilitating college visits within VOALA’s Los Angeles area programs.

On-site position focusing on program operations, data tracking, and collaboration with instructors and community partners to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field required.
• Experience with educational programs for disadvantaged or at‑risk students preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, enroll, and advise students at an assigned high school; conduct outreach to students and community.
• Provide participants with academic advising, career awareness and assessment, and financial aid information.
• Develop curriculum and conduct workshops on college and career planning and financial literacy.
• Coordinate tutoring services and supervise tutors and advisors.
• Prepare weekly evaluations and reports; maintain participant files and privacy.
• Plan college visits and supervise group activities, ensuring participant safety.
