Job summary

Innovative Network of Knowledge (INK) in Texas is seeking an experienced early childhood educator to support Head Start programs and ensure high-quality learning environments for young children, including those with disabilities.

The ideal candidate will align teaching practices with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to promote healthy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education or equivalent coursework with teaching experience.
• Experience with children with disabilities and collaboration with community partners.
• Ability to travel up to 50% for conferences and meetings.
• Must pass health examination and background checks.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control and professional composure.
• Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff, consultants, contractors, and volunteers protect the health and safety of children and keep supervision at all times.
• Provide ongoing coaching on effective teaching in an organized learning environment aligned with Head Start outcomes.
• Monitor classroom environment and curricula to provide developmentally appropriate experiences and assess data.
• Monitor compliance with positive adult-child interactions using CLASS Pre-K instrument.
• Implement tools supporting screenings and ongoing evaluation of children's development.
• Identify opportunities for parent and family engagement through conferences and activities.
• Follow practices to keep children safe and report abuse or neglect; maintain standards of conduct.
• Complete minimum training requirements per state and federal standards.
• Create weekly lesson plans reflecting positive interactions and individualized curriculum.
• Schedule regular communication with teaching staff about routines, activities, behavior, and progress.
• Complete all required screenings and assessments on time.
• Organize child files and documentation; ensure documents are current and compliant.
• Monitor the classroom for hazards and ensure a safe environment.
• Provide oversight of incident reporting within policy timeframes.
