Job summary

The Teen Challenge Thrive program is recruiting an Education Assistant to supervise all education‑related activities, oversee class time instruction, and support students and teachers. The role acts as a department assistant to the Education Lead Coordinator.

Responsibilities include leading Bible studies, conducting prayer, discipling students, enrolling them in online classes, proctoring coursework, and coordinating with online teachers to ensure smooth learning.

Qualifications

• Spiritual maturity and agreement with ATCOT mission
• At least 2 years of leadership experience; TC ministry experience desirable
• Understanding of addictive problems and their deleterious effects
• Bachelor's degree or 2 years relevant experience
• Credentialed as a minister or pursuing AG credentials
• Complete the Biblical Counseling Course
• 1 year TC classroom teaching experience
• Ministerial credentials with a reputable church organization
• Primarily serve as a minister to students; conduct bible studies, lead prayer and disciple students
• Engage in religious instruction; enroll students into online classes and coordinate with online teachers

Responsibilities

• Act as proctor while students complete online coursework and ensure qualified teachers cover each class
• Pair new students with advisors to guide them toward Christ and provide guidance on questions
• Keep inventory of books and materials needed for studies
• Introduce new students to TC and online classes and review academic requirements
• Provide introductions and paperwork with behavioral contracts and student rules
• Staff housing is available and the role operates a full-time day shift

Job Description

Primary responsibility of the Education Assistant is to supervise all education-related activities at Thrive including, but not limited to class time instruction, students and teachers. The Educational Assistant is a department assistant to the Education Lead Coordinator.

Requirements

Shall be a person of spiritual maturity, amiable to the Assemblies of God doctrine, and in full agreement with the ATCOT mission statement.

At lease 2 years of relevant leadership experience. Teen Challenge ministry experience is desirable

Shall have a current understanding and working knowledge of addictive problems and their deleterious effects.

ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in the AG or doctrinally similar fellowship

Bachelor's degree or 2 years relevant experience

complete the Biblical Counseling Course

Make sure that a teacher with adequate training covers each class. ensure that new students are paired with advisors who will be able to lead students to Christ and give instructions to questions and situations that will arise.

keep an inventory of books needed to complete for studies and individual coursework.

introduce new students to both their TC and online classes and see that they are informed of their academic requirements. Give them their introduction paperwork complete with behavioral contracts and student rules.
