Job summary

Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas is seeking an Education Assistant to oversee Thrive’s education activities, supervise classes, and support the Education Lead Coordinator. You will conduct Bible studies, lead prayers, and coordinate online coursework while guiding students in their academic and spiritual journey.

The role emphasizes spiritual maturity, AG doctrine alignment, and prior ministry experience; a Biblical Counseling Course and teaching background are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must align with Assemblies of God doctrine.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience.
• Understanding of addictive problems and their effects.
• Ministerial credentials with a reputable church organization preferred.
• Pursuing AG credentials or related fellowship.
• Complete the Biblical Counseling Course.
• 1 year TC classroom teaching experience.
• Enrolled or credentialed in ministry within TC or similar ministry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all education-related activities at Thrive, including class time instruction and supervision of students and teachers.
• Assist Education Lead Coordinator as department assistant.
• Conduct Bible studies and lead prayer for students.
• Engage in religious instruction and discharge spiritual guidance.
• Enroll students in online classes and coordinate with online teachers.
• Proctor online coursework and ensure adequate coverage for classes.
• Pair new students with advisors and guide them toward Christ.
• Maintain inventory of books and materials needed for studies.

Job Description

Primary responsibility of the Education Assistant is to supervise all education-related activities at Thrive including, but not limited to class time instruction, students and teachers. The Educational Assistant is a department assistant to the Education Lead Coordinator.

Requirements

Shall be a person of spiritual maturity, amiable to the Assemblies of God doctrine, and in full agreement with the ATCOT mission statement.

At lease 2 years of relevant leadership experience. Teen Challenge ministry experience is desirable

Shall have a current understanding and working knowledge of addictive problems and their deleterious effects.

ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in the AG or doctrinally similar fellowship

Bachelor's degree or 2 years relevant experience

complete the Biblical Counseling Course

preferred qualifications: 1 years of TC or similar ministry experience

1 year TC classroom teaching experience

ministerial credentials with a reputable church organization

primarily serve as a minister to students in the Thrive program. conduct bible studies, lead prayer and disciple students.

engage in religious instruction

enroll students into online classes. correspond with online teachers regularly as needed. correspond with the Education Lead as needed.

act as proctor while students are completing online coursework and teach group studies. Make sure that a teacher with adequate training covers each class. ensure that new students are paired with advisors who will be able to lead students to Christ and give instructions to questions and situations that will arise.

keep an inventory of books needed to complete for studies and individual coursework.

introduce new students to both their TC and online classes and see that they are informed of their academic requirements. Give them their introduction paperwork complete with behavioral contracts and student rules.
