Job summary

Teen Challenge in Montgomery seeks a Direct Care staff member to serve as a minister to adolescent girls in the THRIVE program. Responsibilities include religious instruction, supervision during activities, mentoring residents, and coordinating with campus departments to meet DFPS regulations.

The role requires spiritual maturity, a high school diploma or GED, and likely ministerial credentials or progress toward AG credentials. THRIVE provides training and supports certification as needed.

Qualifications

  • Person must show spiritual maturity and alignment with ATCOT mission.
  • Completion of Effective Biblical Counseling or equivalent course.
  • Knowledge of Christian discipleship and mentor relationships.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ideally minister credential or pursuing AG/doctrinal fellowship credentials.
  • 30 hours of childcare-related training (Provided by THRIVE).
  • Maintain First Aid and CPR certification (training provided by THRIVE).
  • Background check and pastoral reference required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in religious instruction.
  • Work with other departments to comply with Texas DFPS regulations.
  • Participate in campus events and chapels as required.
  • Supervise and mentor residents during activities and routines.
  • Administer discipline per THRIVE policies.
  • Minister to students as opportunities arise and during scheduled sessions.
  • Provide and communicate vision and planning for all campus aspects.
  • Support Teen Challenge Accreditation Standards and cooperate with the National Office.
  • Oversee welfare and development of students on campus.
  • Be responsible for program staff supervision and guidance.
  • Become a mentor to students.
  • All other duties as assigned by Director.

  • Be supportive of the Teen Challenge NationalAccreditation Standards and fully cooperative with the Teen Challenge National Office
  • Be responsible for the physical, spiritual, andemotional welfare and development of the students while on the campus
  • Be responsible for the supervision and guidance ofthe program staff
  • Become a mentor to students
  • All other duties as assigned by Director
