Summary Description

1. Assist school teachers in instructing and supervising students to maintain a well-organized classroom environment.
2. Prepare instructional materials and classrooms for activities.
3. Supervise and assist children in classrooms and other school areas.
4. Reinforce classroom lessons and provide additional assistance as needed.
5. Support special needs students and coordinate special projects or programs as assigned.
6. Work under direct supervision according to set procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test.
• One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.

Degree Equivalency Formula

• Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required experience.
• Master’s Degree = 6 years plus required experience.
