The AmplifyLearn.AI Center at the University of Washington invites applications for Assistant Director of Research to oversee research and technology development in AI for education. You will lead a team of graduate researchers and data scientists, coordinate grant efforts, and work with Colleague AI to evaluate impacts on teacher efficiency and student learning.

Reporting to the Director, you will guide study design, causal inference, and stakeholder engagement with K-12 schools, EdTech

Formación

• Master's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience leading research projects.
• Experience with AI in educational research and causal inference.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing graduate students and data scientists in AI/ML projects.
• Publication record in relevant journals or conferences.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, testing, and refinement of AI in education studies.
• Develop validation systems for AI models in education.
• Coordinate with Director and core faculty on research agenda.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing.
• Oversee AI for education research projects and manage budgets.
• Mentor graduate students and data scientists.
• Engage with K-12 institutions, EdTech partners, policymakers, and funders.
• Represent the Center at conferences and public engagements.
