Job summary

Harvard University’s Center for Education Policy Research seeks a Data Scientist to manage and analyze large educational datasets, develop AI-enabled coaching tools, and translate research into practical educational products.

You will lead data infrastructure, apply ML/NLP methods, and collaborate with educators, researchers, and developers on grant-funded projects aimed at improving math teaching and learning through evidence-based approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in data science, statistics, CS, economics, mathematics, education, or related field.
• Experience in data science, ML, educational research, or related field.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, clean, and prep structured and unstructured data for AI modeling.
• Develop reproducible data workflows and documentation.
• Apply ML, NLP, and AI methods to education research questions.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate research into tools and products.
