Job summary

The AmplifyLearn.AI Center at the University of Washington invites applications for an Assistant Director of Research and Technology Development. You will lead studies on AI in education, supervise graduate researchers, and collaborate with practitioners to enhance K-12 learning experiences.

You will also work with Colleague AI to develop product features and assess their impact on teaching efficiency and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and four years leading research projects and Edtech product development.
• Ph.D. preferred in Education, CS, Data Sciences, or related field.
• Experience securing and managing funded research projects, especially federal grants.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and validation of AI in education studies for K-12 settings.
• Coordinate research priorities with the Director and faculty on agenda.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing.
• Oversee and manage AI for education research projects and budgets.
• Mentor graduate students and data scientists; foster collaboration.
• Represent the Center at conferences and public engagements.
